A lot of people want to convert MOD files from their camcorder to DVD but have no idea how to deal with it. The .MOD file format is used by various digital camcorder models (I.E Panasonic: SDR-S100, Canon FS100, JVC GZ-MG30) to save their recording videos. In fact, MOD video files are nothing but MPEG-2 files with AC3 audio. If you want to convert to MPG or AVI format for editing or playback, by just renaming the extension (xxx.mod to xxx.mpg) manually. However, if you want to convert MOD to DVD for playing on DVD player, it will require advanced skills, but for the novice or the non-technical user, this type of issues may just become a nightmare.

Pre-requirement: A blank DVD disk (DVD +R, DVD-R, DVD+RW or DVD-RW), rewritable DVD-ROM

Now, we need to import MOD files that need to be burned onto a DVD. Select/drag the MOD file into the main interface of D DVD creator. You could check the video size on the measure bar on the bottom. Make sure the space doesn't exceed the total DVD capacity.

Click "Menu Template" to customize your DVD menu. There are different styles of built-in templates, frames and buttons for your choice. To apply a template, frame or button, you can just double click it. You can even add text, background music and background image to customize the menu.

Now you can convert to DVD disk. Go to set TV Standard (PAL/NTSC) on "Setting" option and output Aspect Ratio (4:3/16:9) on "DVD setting bar". Click "Burn" and then select your DVD drive (if you have more than one DVD drive on PC) and Click "Start" to burn your project.

Tips: The volume of DVD use is shown on the bottom side. You can select DVD type of "D5" or "D9". If the video size is exceed the DVD capability you can reduce it by setting output quality. E.g. select "high quality" instead of "Best performance"
