Friday, April 8th, 2011

Windows Phone Marketplace has been operated for business for a year, and now Microsoft has released a new figure for it that the number of apps here has arrived to 11,500 of which 7,500 are paid apps and 1,110 are free apps. The number is still in a fast growing.

Since the Windows Phone 7, Microsoft is trying hard to run after Apple and Google. Now it’s still a long way for Microsoft. The app number in App Store has reached 350 thousand, and the download has been over 10 billion. But Microsoft seems not worry at all about it. Brandon Watson said on his blog that Microsoft cares more about the quality rather than the quantity, and the number of the apps only relays on high-quality ones, low-grade apps are not included.

Microsoft reports that over 36,000 people and companies now form its Windows Phone community with another 1200 joining each week.
